Mickey Ashmore was the President and CEO of UCR, the largest retail real estate services firm in Texas prior to its merger with CBRE in January 2015 where he was appointed Chairman, Retail Services Americas. The high-energy culture of UCR was a direct result of the passion and creativity exuded by Mickey. His leadership, caring attitude, knack for communication and ability to build a strong team led to the dramatic growth of UCR's client list, service offerings and leasing portfolio. CBRE's purchase of UCR solidified its position as the Southwest leader in retail real estate services.
Mickey has a commitment to strong partnerships, a talent for attracting skilled senior agents and an ability to mastermind solid strategies. These traits have helped increase the firm's reach by attracting partners in Austin as well as in diversified service lines, including Asset + Property Management and Investment Sales. Most recently, Mickey added Development to the firm's list of specialties, offering client-driven development solutions.
At UCR, Mickey helped make the company a player on the national stage through the founding of its Urban platform. With UCR's help, CBRE Urban is a recognized industry leader in retail real estate services focusing on Main Streets, transitoriented developments, and mixed-use projects. Mickey has personally been involved in the leasing of Southlake Town Square, Mockingbird Station, Knox Street District, and Midtowne Little Rock.
While President and CEO of UCR, Mickey served as the Chairman of Chainlinks, the No. 1 retail brokerage network in North America. Prior to UCR Mickey was the Executive Vice President for Hopkins-Shafer Company. His background before entering real estate includes coaching soccer, teaching speech and English, directing the season ticket sales for a national soccer team and working with his father selling automobiles. Mickey is a wine enthusiast and when away from the office, Mickey enjoys cooking, traveling, reading, photography and fly-fishing.
